Hi, I’m
dr. sequeda sutton

I am an AADP Board Certified Integrative Medicine Practitioner, Specializing in Consciousness-based medicine through Maharishi Ayurveda, Reiki, Herbal medicine, Neuroadaptive Therapy, Spiritual Counseling, Lifestyle Coaching, Education & Training. I love God, I love people and I love life. My passion for natural law guides me in serving others in their wellness journey by developing health -promoting protocols that honor the individuality of each person and  aids them in removing causative factors that facilitate health imbalances.  I also enjoy educating people on sustainable ways to enliven their body’s homeostatic repair systems.  I am here to serve the emerging paradigm of consciousness-based medicine by  inspiring synchronicity between the five bodies of consciousness which are; the physical body, the vital body, the mental body, the intuitive body, and the bliss or spiritual body.

When not seeing clients or sharing knowledge, you can find me hanging out with my husband James, writing/channeling spiritual wisdom on my podcast HI’ Vibes, playing with my dog Akua, doing Wing Chun martial arts, and hiking around the Big Island of Hawaii.

SINCE I CAN REMEMBER…

I gravitated towards various knowledge, Divinity, physics, energy and the natural rhythms of nature. Having asthma as a child and seeing so many chronic health challenges in my family I searched for something different. I remember my maternal grandmother making  herbal remedies, and healing cloths to help me breathe. I also observed transformative healing outcomes through energy and bodywork  with people who had conditions that could only be managed by allopathic medicine. These experiences inspired my curiosity in the mind/body/spirit connection. My love for spirituality, science, nature, reading and learning fascinating concepts about the mind, body and our overall existence unfolded within me as a knowing that sharing life-promoting ancient wisdom was my calling.

2009-2014

During my time at Seminary I studied world religions, I was drawn to the wisdom in other religions. While researching these ancient texts and practices  I recognized that there was a common spiritual theme within them that had nothing to do with rules, rituals, or denominational practices.  Those themes were love, energy, self-realization, and oneness. I held this idea and after graduating and doing traditional pastoring, I could not shake the impression that had been imprinted upon me during my studies. Again I knew there was more.

2014-2018

After completing my Doctoral studies in Divinity and Pastoral Counseling. I Wanted to understand more about human behavior and psychosomatic connection. I studied Positive psychology, Spiritual counseling, and Reiki. I graduated from these programs with a deeper understanding of how each system of our physiology works as individual and connective units to maintain our life experience. While pastoring, I encountered many individuals who were using allopathic medicine to manage health and emotional challenges with little to no changes. My compassion grew as I observed and felt their desperation as diagnosis of chronic and autoimmune diseases continued to grow. Reki and Cognitive Therapy training had given me the skill to counsel clients and build a practice as a life coach dealing with perception, belief, trauma, and solution-based therapy. Still, there was more.

2018-2022

In this stage of my unfolding I enrolled in the Science & Alternative Medicine program at Everglades University. Studying at EU gave me a deeper understanding of the necessity of individualized health care. There is no one single approach to diet or lifestyle that is right for everyone. The calling to learn what was right for an individual in their wellness journey kept me on my quest to sharpen my knowledge. During my time at EU I was introduced to the ancient healing systems of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Finding Ayurveda & TCM felt like a homecoming, a remembering deep in my soul. I knew my path had  been leading me here. I took the invitation to dive deep into these systems of healing. After graduating Summa Cum Lauda from EU, and becoming a board certified Alternative Medicine Practitioner….

2022-PRESENT

I enrolled in Maharishi International University, to specialize in Maharishi Ayurveda with a minor in 5-elemetal theory from TCM. I chose Maharishi Ayurveda because their program is consciousness-based, integrative and fully accredited. My academic studies focus on diet, lifestyle & preventative medicine. After 1 year of academic focus I began Clinical training in Ayurvedic Medicine in Hawaii as well as specialized clinical training in Fairfield, Iowa and Kerala, India at Sreedhareeyam Eye hospital learning to apply the principles of Ayurveda to treat & even reverse diseases. I have also been certified in Panchakarma through Sreedhareeyam Eye hospital. In Maharishi Ayurveda the main focus for correcting imbalance is digestive health. My training has helped me to understand that it does not matter how nutritious a person's food is, if the body cannot digest and use it properly.  Understanding the importance of proper digestion as a key principle of health is just one of the many gifts, priceless insight & mentorship I have been immersed in. Other areas of my knowledge include:  herbal medicines formulation, Transcendental Meditation, Yoga Asanas, elemental theory, Ayurvedic tongue & pulse diagnosis & creating complex treatment plans for acute & chronic diseases. Most importantly I learned how to understand people on a deeper level, to see their tendencies & imbalances in a way that is so uniquely Ayurveda. My mission is alleviating stuffing through wellness that is consciousness-based.  Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial and relational wellness is for anyone who opens themselves up to it and understands that health is not a goal, rather it is the basic right of your incarnation.
